After 15 years on the agency side, I made the jump in-house to a traditional B2B company still running on spreadsheets, phone calls, and paper orders. I walked straight into all the usual clichés: “Magento is too complex,” “too slow,” “not the right fit for us.” So I did what no one expected — I stripped Magento down to its core, making it lean, fast, and focused on what actually mattered to the business. Through patience, a lot of education, and translating digital into language the team could relate to, we shifted the internal mindset. In the end, we delivered a high-performing DTC channel—and proved that when Magento is used the right way, it works.
